About the green coffee
The green coffee for our Easter coffee was processed at the Senkole Washing Station in West Guji.
In Ethiopia, farmers usually grow other crops and fruits on their plots in addition to coffee. After the harvest, smallholders typically bring their coffee cherries to a nearby washing station. Here, the farmers are paid based on the quality and weight of the cherries. The washing station, which is sometimes supplied with coffee cherries by more than 100 smallholders, then takes over the processing.
